$1 million fire injures 3 people

A night-time blaze hurt three people and caused $1 million damage to a sprawling Temecula home, according to Riverside County Fire Department officials.

Flames were reported at 8:59 p.m. in a 4,000-square-foot home along the 24800 block of Fuerte Road in the De Luz area of the city.

About 70 percent of the building was burning when the first fire crews arrived, said Capt. Lori Windsor.

Three people suffered minor injuries, including one who complained of chest pains, Windsor said. No one was burned.

About 20 firefighters knocked down the flames at 10:34 p.m. At least one crew remained on the scene until 2:34 a.m.

The cause wasn’t immediately determined.
