2 taken to hospital after car and school bus crash

A small school bus and a white Toyota Camry collided at the intersection of Broadway and Olive Street this morning, but no one was seriously injured, police said.

The northbound Camry broadsided the Anaheim City School District bus, said officer Doug Elms of the Anaheim Police Department. There was one child, who was not injured, aboard the bus at the time of the crash, elms said.

The bus was knocked into the Broadway sign post on the northeast corner, knocking it down. The Camry continued northbound, coming to rest around half a block north on Olive, with a destroyed front end, and a rear bumper ripped off.

The Camry’s driver and a child riding inside were taken to the hospital as a precaution, because of the violence of the collision, Elms said.

Traffic northbound on Olive and westbound on Broadway was blocked after the collision.

The child on the bus was picked up by a parent, and the bus driver was uninjured, police said.
