3 rescued from smashed car

Four people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at the 1200 block of South Nutwood Street, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez.

According to Martinez the crash involved a red Dodge Ram pickup truck and an older model Toyota Camry.

The Toyota was occupied by a male driver, a man in the front passenger seat, and a woman in the back passenger seat, Martinez said. The Dodge was only occupied by a male driver.

It appears that the Toyota was pulling out of an apartment complex driveway when the front of the Dodge struck the driver’s side of the Toyota, Martinez said.

According to Anaheim Fire Department spokesperson Maria Sabol, firefighters removed three people from one vehicle using the Jaws of Life. They were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
In the other vehicle, one suffered minor abrasions and was also taken to an area hospital.

Sabol said there does not appear to be any life threatening injuries.
