63-year-old killed in collision with SUV
A 63-year-old Desert Hot Springs woman died yesterday soon after the sedan in which she was riding was broadsided by an SUV at a Desert Hot Springs intersection, according to Riverside County coroner’s officials.
Front-seat passenger Karen Lee Hamlin was injured at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at Palm Drive and Varner Road. She died at 3:55 p.m. at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
Indio-based California Highway Patrol officers are investigating.
