79-year-old driver hits tree, dies

LA HABRA – A 79-year-old La Habra man died Sunday morning after his vehicle struck a small tree, police said.

Police were called regarding a traffic accident shortly before 10 a.m. at Branford Lane and Sturbridge Drive, said Sgt. Jim Tigner of the La Habra Police Department.

Tigner said the man, Guiseppe Tocco, was driving his pickup when he struck a small tree on Sturbridge Drive.

Tigner said the accident was the result of Tocco having a medical condition while driving.

Neighbors ran out to help the man while police and paramedics
arrived, he said. Tocco was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he later died, Tigner said.

An autopsy will be performed on the body to determine the cause of death.
