Bicyclist hospitalized after being hit by car

PLACENTIA – A bicyclist sustained a leg injury after being struck by a car Monday afternoon, police said.

The incident was reported to police at 12:47 p.m. on Murray Street and Chapman Avenue, said Sgt. Brian Perry of the Placentia Police Department.

The bicyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, Perry said.
According to a witness at the scene, the motorist drove through a red light.
