Downey man killed in motorcycle crash

A 33-year-old Downey man was fatally injured in a motorcycle crash west of Ventura, it was reported this weekend.

Salvador Gonzalez-Larracilla, 33, was riding east on the Ventura (101) Freeway near Padre Juan Canyon Road, at Faria Beach, about 5 p.m. Friday when he swerved to avoid slow-moving traffic and ran off the road. His motorcycle crashed into two poles before he was thrown from the bike, the Ventura County Star reported.

Gonzalez-Larracilla was airlifted to the Ventura County Medical Center, but died about 4 hours after the crash, the newspaper said.

No one else was involved in the incident.
