Driver killed when car crashes into tree
A 67-year-old man died when his car hit a tree on an I-5 embankment last week, according to the Orange County Coroner’s website.
Jose Elizondo of Rancho Santa Margarita was involved in the 2:17 p.m. accident on Thursday east of the northbound I-5, 500 feet south of Junipero Serra Road, according to the website.
He died at the scene of the crash. The California Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
No further details were immediately available from the CHP.
