Fatal crash in Sylmar involving LAPD car under investigation

A fatal wreck in Sylmar involving a Los Angeles police car was under investigation today.
A woman died and two other people suffered minor injuries in a collision in the 12000 block of North Glenoaks Boulevard that was reported at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday, a fire department spokesman said.

The police car was not responding to a call, a Valley Traffic Division duty officer said.

The fatally injured woman’s name was unavailable early today as police tried to sort out what happened.

Officers at the Valley Traffic Division said the two officers in the patrol car involved in the collision were not seriously hurt.

The police car had front-end damage, a Newsreel video crew reported.
