The driver of a Ferrari has been charged in the death of his cousin in a Christmas Eve crash in Huntington Beach.

Orange County prosecutors charged Luicci Nader, 19, of Huntington Beach, with one felony count of vehicular manslaughter by unlawful manner of driving with gross negligence. Nader was being held on $100,000 bail, according to a statement from the district attorney’s office. He is expected to be arraigned Friday.

Nader was driving the sports car west on Coast Highway on the evening of Dec. 24 with Ralph Abinader, 24, in the passenger seat. Police said the Ferrari, a gray 2008 F-430 Spider, was speeding down the highway between Jamboree Road and Bayside Drive when Nader lost control and careened onto the other side of the road at about 5:15 p.m.

The car smashed head-on into a tow truck, police said. The Ferrari split in two, and Abinader died at the scene.
