Motorcyclist hurt in crash with taxi

A 52-year-old Garden Grove man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries to his legs after his motorcycle collided with a taxi at the intersection of College Avenue and West Street Tuesday.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., a motorcycle headed north on West Street crashed with a taxi headed west on College Avenue, knocking the rider into the southbound lanes.

The taxi driver, a 60-year-old man from Placentia, stayed at the scene, and did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.

West Street was closed for two hours afterward.

Garden Grove police ask that any witnesseses call Investigator Jason Perkins at 714-741-5823.
