Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle

“Police are undergoing investigation of the cause of the accident.”

HUNTINGTON BEACH – A 25-year-old pedestrian died on Monday from injuries he received after being struck by a vehicle on Beach Boulevard just after midnight Saturday, police officials said.
On Saturday, a 2006 BMW SUV going north on Beach hit William Wigfall of Oakley, Calif., according to Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Chris Filicicchia.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 37-year-old Jinmei Jiang of Temple City.

Wigfall was treated at the scene and taken to UCI Medical Center, Filicicchia said.

He died of his injuries on Monday at 7:53 p.m.

No charges have been filed but the accident is still under investigation.
