Riverside Officer Struck At DUI Checkpoint
A police officer in Riverside County is recovering after he was struck by a car at a drunken driving checkpoint while setting up cones.
Moreno Valley police say the officer was laying out cones for the checkpoint when a passing car hit him Thursday night.
Other officers took him to a hospital and he’s expected to recover.
The driver of the vehicle stopped nearby but there was no immediate word on whether the driver was arrested.
The accident remains under investigation.
