Skateboarder hit, killed by car

A 14-year-old Rialto skateboarder died last night after being hit by a car, Rialto police and San Bernardino County coroner’s officials say.

Ricardo Marin was struck about 8 p.m. by a 1994 Toyota that was traveling southbound along Cedar Avenue north of Rialto Avenue, coroner’s officials said in a written statement. The boy was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he died at 8:23 p.m.

“A preliminary investigation has determined that (Marin) was riding his skateboard across Cedar Avenue at the time of the accident,” police Lt. Joe Cirilo said in a separate statement.”
