Teen driver killed in Coachella
A 19-year-old Coachella motorist died last night when he lost control of his car and hit a palm tree in that city, according to Riverside County coroner’s officials.
Theodore Garcia died at the scene of the 6:40 p.m. wreck along Grapefruit Boulevard, about a quarter-mile north of Avenue 49.
A passenger survived with serious injuries. Fire crews were summoned to cut at least one of the victims from the wreckage.
