Toyota 4Runner rolls, lands on its roof

A flat tire caused a Toyota 4Runner to roll over and land on its roof on the northbound 57 freeway just north of Tonner Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Cuong Thach from Pomona was headed home after dropping his wife off when the rollover happened.

“I prayed to God to save me as I was rolling,” Thach said. “He saved me.”

CHP officer Alvin Yamaguchi said Thach got a flat from a bald back tire.

The incident was reported at 6:17 a.m.

It’s been busy on the freeways this morning, including two separate SigAlerts.

– A vehicle went off the roadway on the westbound 91 freeway just west of Valley View Street, according to CHP. No injuries were reported. The incident was reported at 8:49 a.m.

• The carpool lane on the southbound I-5 freeway just south of El Toro Road was blocked for a few minutes after a pick-up truck and another vehicle collided, leaving one facing the wrong way, according to CHP. Lanes were clear by 6:23 a.m.

• A traffic collision involving two vehicles on the eastbound 91 freeway at the southbound 5 freeway had five lanes closed early this morning. A SigAlert was called at 4:36 a.m. Lanes were clear by 5:32 a.m.
