Traffic tied up this morning at I-5 and 73 in South County

“1 person taken to hospital after 2-vehicle crash.”

MISSION VIEJO – Traffic was heavily congested on the northbound I-5 at the 73 this morning after at least two vehicles crashed.
At least one person was apparently down on the ground following the incident that was reported at 8:13 a.m., a CHP officer said. It is unclear how the person ended up on the ground.

Initially, the CHP indicated that a blue Ford Escape and Ford F-150 crashed. Police also said that a gold Honda was also possibly involved.

None of the lanes were blocked, but the CHP said heavy traffic backed up as tow-truck crews worked to remove the vehicles.

An ambulance was called to the scene and at least one person was taken to a hospital although the extent of injuries was not immediately known.
