Two vehicles crash head-on near school

A sedan and a commercial van crashed head-on at an intersection near a school this morning.

At 8:30 a.m., police responded to the collision at Westmont Drive and Loara Street, near the crosswalk for Westmont Elementary School and a mall, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.

Both vehicles, a Honda Accord and a blue van with a sign that read “Advanced Clinical Research Institute” on it, appeared smashed from the front.

The Honda was turning left at Westmont in front of the van when the two collided, Martinez said.

The driver of the Honda, a woman, reported pain in her chest. Paramedics responded but no one was hospitalized.
The collision did not block any lanes, and traffic appeared to be moving in the area.
