The Lemon Park splash pad in Fullerton was a popular place on a recent afternoon as the regional continued to bake in the summer sun.

North Orange County cities offer lots of options for staying cool. Take a look:

Brea

The Plunge at the Old City Hall Park is open for recreational swimming for $3 through Aug. 26 and on Labor Day. Hours are 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. weekends. Wednesday nights there is swimming through Aug. 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Labor Day there will be swimming from noon to 3 p.m.

Buena Park

Recreational swimming is $1 for children and $1.50 for adults at the Peak Park Municipal Pool and Boisseranc Park Pool through Sept. 2.

Daily hours through Aug. 12 are 12:30 to 2:15 at both pools and 2:45 to 4:30 at Peak and until 4:15 at Boisseranc. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is also swimming from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Peak.

From Aug. 13 to Sept. 3 there is swimming daily from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m. at Peak and weekdays from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peak. There is swimming from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. on weekends at both and from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. at Boisseranc.

The Brenner Park wading pool will be open through Aug. 12 and is free for children from 1 to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Fullerton

The city’s three spray pools are open through Sept. 30.

Through Aug. 12 they are open 1 to 5 p.m. daily; from Aug. 18 to Sept. 30 they are open weekends only. The splash pads are at : Adlena Park, Lemon Park and Valencia Park.

The Downtown Plaza spray pool is open 10:30 a.m. to dusk daily into October.

There are also times available for swimming for $3 at the Janet Evans Swim Complex from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays and 12:30 to 5 p.m. on weekends; and at the Fullerton Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays

La Habra

Open swimming times cost $2 for adults and $1 for children and are available at the La Habra High pool through Aug. 3. Sessions are 1 to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays.

You can also take a swim in the pool and watch a movie at one of two Dive-In Movie nights: “Cars 3” on July 27 and “Jumanji” on Aug. 24. Get tickets at the community center or at the pool during the open swim times.

Placentia

Free recreation swimming is open through Aug. 24 at:

Whitten Community Pool, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

Gomez Community Pool, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays
