Pedestrian struck, killed in Fullerton

FULLERTON — A 66-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a car driven by a teenage girl, who remained at the scene, Fullerton police reported Friday.

Anthony Garcia, who had no known address, was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2008 Toyota Camry while walking south across the 1800 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue just after 10 p.m. Thursday, Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus said.Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 17-year-old driver cooperated with officers, according to Radus, who said investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs played a part in the collision.
