Two people were rescued from a house fire in Santa Ana on Friday night, a fire official said.

One person was critically injured; the other had minor injuries, according to Capt. Alan Wilkes of the Orange County Fire Authority.

Firefighters were dispatched at 10 p.m. to the 1000 block of North Olive Street. They encountered flames and smoke coming from a home and learned people were trapped in the house, Wilkes said.

Two people were rescued, Wilkes said. Both were brought to the hospital. No one else was found in the house.

Firefighters extinguished the flames in 20 minutes, Wilkes said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No details were available about the people who were rescued, he said.
