A 57-year-old man was arrested Saturday after allegedly ditching his vehicle after it crashed along with a trailer into a tree, a power pole and a fence in front of a home, Garden Grove police said.

Larry Noble of Garden Grove was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run about 2 p.m. following the collision at Chapman Avenue and Morrie Lane, police said in a news release.

Noble was towing a travel trailer eastbound on Chapman Avenue in a construction zone with only one lane open, when his vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed, authorities said.

“The driver fled the scene, but was located a short distance away with the assistance of residents in the area,” police said in a news release.

A stretch of Chapman Avenue was shut down while crews cleared the scene.
