Man dies after shooting in Westminster CVS parking lot

WESTMINSTER – A man was shot Wednesday night, Sept. 6, in the parking lot of a CVS Pharmacy and later died at a hospital, police said.

Investigators arrived on scene shortly after a 9:40 p.m. call of shots fired to find the wounded man, Officer Alan Aoki said. There had also been reports of an altercation at the site in the 15400 block of Brookhurst Street.

The man was taken to UCI Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds and later pronounced dead. The suspect fled on foot.

The shooting is the second violent death in two days in Westminster. Early Wednesday morning, Sept. 6, firefighters found a body in the trunk of a burning car. Detectives are also investigating that death as a suspected homicide.
