Shauna Marie Sims, 39, of Brea, pleaded guilty to a felony count of lewd act on a child age 14 or 15 and a misdemeanor count of battery. Two other counts of lewd acts on a child 14 or 15 were dropped along with a count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, all felonies.

Sims was sentenced to 364 days in jail.

When she was charged after her arrest by Brea police, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office reported that Sims was a special education teacher at Parks Junior High School in Fullerton when she allegedly molested two boys, one 14 and the other 16. The boys were not students at the school, according to prosecutors.

It was not immediately clear from court records if the plea deal covered allegations related to both alleged victims.
