Motorcyclist dies in Costa Mesa collision near Orange Coast College

A 23-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a car in Costa Mesa near Orange Coast College on Tuesday, March 19.

Officers responded near the intersection of Fairview Road and Adams Avenue after a caller notified police of the crash at about 8:50 p.m., according to Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Patrick Wessel. He said the man who was riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities did not immediately release his identity.

Police said the motorcyclist and driver of a Nissan sedan collided as the car traveled westbound on El Camino Drive, which turns into Adams Avenue, and the bike was going northbound on Fairview Road.

The driver of the Nissan cooperated with police and did not show obvious signs of intoxication, Wessel said.
