Man arrested in La Mirada on suspicion of drive-by shooting in Norwalk

A man was arrested in La Mirada after he allegedly committed a drive-by shooting hours earlier in Norwalk on Friday afternoon, March 29, authorities said.

About 4:45 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the 14500 block of Claressa Avenue on reports of a shooting, Lt. Jorge Marchena said.

When deputies arrived, they were told a suspect drove by and opened fire at the home, which was occupied by several residents, Marchena said. No one was struck by gunfire.

The suspect fled, but deputies obtained information from witnesses and later located the suspect’s vehicle in the 13900 block of Mansa Drive in La Mirada, Marchena said.

Deputies arrested the man, who was near the vehicle when deputies arrived, and found a firearm, Marchena said. The exact time of the arrest was not immediately known.
