A motorcyclist died after slamming into a car that was turning into a parking lot in Buena Park early Thursday morning, April 4.

The crash was reported at 12:36 a.m. on northbound Beach Boulevard, just north of La Palma Avenue, said Sgt. Greg Pelton of the Buena Park Police Department.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. A passenger in the car was hospitalized.

The preliminary investigation showed that the car was making a left-hand turn into the parking lot, and the motorcycle crashed into it, the sergeant said.

Pelton said the speed of the motorcycle possibly contributed to the crash.

Witness R.J. Holder said he saw the motorcycle “gunning it.”

“That bike was going really fast though,” Holder said, adding that the bike “exploded” when it hit the car.
