Flag football at the Great Park this weekend is serious business

The American Flag Football League is hosting one of its four regional finals at the Orange County Great Park this weekend.

At stake, along with bragging rights, is the $1 million prize for the team that bests 131 other squads. There will be 24 teams playing in the Irvine regionals.

Among the players are former college, arena league and NFL players.

The winners of Saturday’s round-robin tournament will play Sunday. Games start at 9 a.m. and are free to the public.
