2 dead, 3 hurt when car hits wall
“Honda in solo crash just outside gated Irvine community, police said.”
Two people were killed and three were hospitalized after a car crashed into a wall just outside a gated community in Irvine.
The single-vehicle crash occurred just after 11:30 p.m. on Shady Canyon, east of Sunny Hill, according to Irvine police.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but when officers arrived, they found a 1993 Honda had crashed into a wall near a guard shack for a gated community.
One of the passengers in the car was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement released by police. The other four occupants were taken by paramedics to local hospitals, but one of them died shortly afterward.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
