Door cut off to rescue van driver

ANAHEIM – A two-vehicle collision injured two people Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The crash, involving a Hyundai sedan and a Ford Aerostar van, was reported to Anaheim police at 8:48 a.m. at the intersection of Orangewood Avenue and 9th Street, said Sgt. William Jefferson with the Anaheim Police Department.

After the crash, the Aerostar van appears to have wound up 50 yards further east on Orangewood Avenue at Gail Lane.

Anaheim firefighter paramedics cut off the driver’s door of the van and removed the driver.

Two people were taken to UCI Medical Center, according to MetroNet, a fire dispatcher service.

Traffic on Orangewood Avenue was blocked by Anaheim and Garden Grove police from 9th Street to Gail Lane.
