Driver Sought In Deadly L.A. Street Race Crash

Los Angeles police are looking for a second driver involved in a street race that killed a 19-year-old woman.

Police say a Honda Civic was racing a Mustang late Monday night northeast of downtown when the Honda pulled in front and then braked.

The Mustang’s driver lost control and hit two parked cars, a light pole, a concrete wall and an iron fence. The crash killed the Mustang’s 19-year-old passenger, Estephani Orduna.

The Mustang’s driver, 19-year-old Jesus Lopez, was arrested for investigation of manslaughter. The other driver, whose identity is not known, fled the scene.

Anyone with information on the crash was asked to call Detective Michael Kaden at (213) 972-1825 or the Central Traffic’s Main Desk at (213) 972-1853.
