Lanes clear after crash snarls 55 freeway

COSTA MESA – A three-vehicle collision shut down five lanes of the southbound 55 just north of the northbound I-405 Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash, involving a truck and a sedan, was reported to the CHP at 9:50 a.m. A Toyota Highlander was also at the scene of the crash.

CHP officer Gabe Montoya said minor injuries were reported.

The collision blocked traffic for about 40 minutes, the CHP said. All lanes were clear by 10:38 a.m.
