Teen-ager killed when her car hits tree

A 19-year-old Lake Forest woman died Monday after hitting a tree in a median on University Drive.

Erin Joyce was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident at 5:38 p.m.

The accident took place between Ridgeline and Michelson drives, and destroyed the Honda Accord Joyce was driving, cutting it into two pieces, police said.

Police closed the stretch of road in both directions Monday evening.
