Vehicle overturns, traps driver inside
COSTA MESA A blue sports car struck a tree, overturned, and landed on its roof, trapping a person inside on the I-405 freeway at Fairview Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at 10:09 a.m. Costa Mesa firefighters removed the driver from the vehicle. The driver was then taken to the hospital.
According to CHP officer Denise Quesada, the person who called in the accident was a Marine who was talking to the victim trapped in the vehicle.
Lanes were clear by 11 a.m.
