OC Fair 2018: Things to do today, Aug. 10

Headed to the fair today? Here are some things to know.

Hours: Noon to midnight

Admission: $12 adults; $7 ages 60 and older, $7 ages 6 to 12; free 5 and younger

Deals:

  • Military members and veterans get free admission daily.
  • Free admission for active duty and professional staff of local public safety departments.
  • Seniors pay $5 admission all day and ride the Ferris wheel or merry-go-round once for free.
  • $2 rides and $2 games are available until 4 p.m. on Fridays.

Things to do:

  • Learn about milking camels from the Oasis Camel Dairy demonstrations at 1:30, 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. in the Livestock area.
  • Watch for the Street Drum Corps, wandering entertainers who will be out on the fairgrounds at 2, 4 and 6 p.m.
  • Playing at the Hangar: Devotional and Hollywood Erasure play tributes to Depeche Mode and Erasure; requires a ticket
  • Playing at the Pacific Amphitheatre: Rebelution, Stephen Marley, Common Kings, Zion I and DJ Mackle; requires a ticket
  • Action Sports Arena: Damsels of Destruction; requires a ticket

Look ahead, the fair ends Sunday:

  • The iBuyPower Game Fest 2 will be held in the Hangar on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 11 and 12; during the day see the latest gaming and technology, at night compete with paid admission.
  • The Steve Miller Band with Peter Frampton plays the Pacific Amphitheatre on Sunday, Aug. 12; requires a ticket
  • Local police and fire chiefs face off in the Motorhome Madness demolition derby at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11; requires a ticket
