Poodle mix Sammi had a bad start, but she’s getting better

by in News

Breed: Poodle mix

Age: 18 months

Gender: Spayed female

Size: 15 pounds

Sammi’s story: Sammi had a pretty rough start to her young life. She was among 17 dogs relinquished by people who were unable to care for them. Shy and already having had puppies that were taken from her, she had had few good interactions with humans. But thanks to a foster family that includes canine siblings, she is growing more confident. While still wary of strangers, her growing steady stream of good experiences with humans is helping her become more comfortable.  She longs to be as happy and affectionate a companion with humans, as she is with her canine friends. Sammi loves to play with other dogs and enjoys toys. When playing with both, her ability to be a happy, content dog shines through. She likes to curl up on the couch and watch the world go by. Sammi is looking for a loving companion who has at least one other small, playful dog (This is a must.) and is willing to take the time to help her become the great dog she has the potential to be. Your patience will be rewarded as Sammi gains your trust and becomes a loving companion. Sammi is a diamond in the rough – but she’s young and smart and shows positive changes every day.

Adoption fee: $350. Sammi is spayed, up to date with shots and microchipped.

Adoption procedure: Bichon FurKids requires a written application and a home/yard safety check. The application can be found at bichonfurkids.org/application. We forward applications that appear to be a good fit to foster families to review. They contact the prospective adopters and schedule a time to meet.
