by in News

An elderly man was hospitalized after he was stabbed in the restroom of a Garden Grove fast food restaurant, authorities said Saturday, Oct. 27.

Police were searching for the man’s attacker.

Just before 11 a.m., Garden Grove police officers were sent to the 13900 block of Harbor Boulevard on a report of a man who was stabbed, Sgt. M. Martinez said.

The victim was found with multiple wounds to his upper body, but they were not considered life threatening, Martinez said.

Officers found surveillance video, which showed a man exiting the restroom moments after the victim entered, Martinez said. The suspect then exited the restaurant and ran through the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black long-sleeve shirt and black pants, Martinez said.

The restaurant was closed for several hours while police interviewed patrons and employees about the incident. The motive for the stabbing was unknown, Martinez said.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact the Garden Grove Police Department’s Detective Bureau at 714-741-5800.
