Mariners warned about dense fog between Orange County coast and Catalina Island

Mariners traveling between the Orange County coast and Catalina Island were warned early Wednesday about dense fog that is reducing visibility in the area.

The fog warning was in effect through 9 a.m., the National Weather Service reported.

Mariners were encouraged to reduce speeds, use radar and GPS, follow guidelines for use of lights and sounds, and to monitor NOAA Weather Radio for the latest conditions.
