Overturned tanker leads to closure of 710 Freeway near I-5 Freeway

A tanker truck overturned on the southbound 710 Freeway near the I-5 Freeway in the Vernon area early Thursday morning, prompting the California Highway Patrol to shut down all lanes in both directions of the roadway so crews could work to upright the large vehicle, officials said.

The crash was first reported around 1:45 a.m. and the lanes were still closed as of 6:30 a.m., according to CHP reports. Crews expect the freeway to remain closed until around 9 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

There were backups on various freeways in the area, including on the westbound 60.
