by in News

A woman accused of assaulting a McDonald’s manager last month when she did not get enough ketchup has been arrested, Santa Ana police said on Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Mayra Berenice Gallo, 24, of Santa Ana was taken into custody on Tuesday after police received numerous tips from the public about her identity, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

After the Oct. 27 incident, officers released surveillance footage of a suspect entering the restaurant, through the employees-only door to the rear, at about 11 p.m. in the 1500 Block of North Bristol Street and attacking the manager.

“She didn’t get her ketchup or enough,” Bertagna said. “An employee in the back (of the restaurant) had told her she couldn’t go inside, but she did. She was on a mission.”

The suspect is seen beating the manager and trying to choke her near the drive-through window inside the building. Other employees came to her aid, and the suspect left with a man.

“We got numerous calls, and one TV-station viewer gave us the specific address where she resides,” Bertagna said.

Officers were able to obtain an arrest warrant and took her into custody as she left her home. She was booked on suspicion of assault.
