Winter storm Diego forces flight cancellations at LAX

by in News

LOS ANGELES — Winter Storm Diego in the southeastern United States forced the cancellation Sunday of three arriving flights and two departing flights between Los Angeles International Airport and some airports in North Carolina.

“We only have a couple of airports in North Carolina that we have service with today,” said Frederick Badlissi of Los Angeles World Airports. “It’s Sunday and it’s a different level of service.”

The storm caused the cancellation of more than 1,000 flights nationwide. American Airlines canceled 225 flights on Saturday and 1,100 flights on Sunday — most of them in and out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, where the airline has a major hub. Another 300 cancellations were expected for Monday.
