by in News

A man in a pickup truck died early Thursday, Dec. 13, after colliding with a street sweeper on Imperial Highway in La Habra.

The crash was reported shortly after 2 a.m. just east of Idaho Street.

When officers arrived they found the front of the Toyota pickup heavily damaged. The driver was inside and pronounced dead by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The driver of the street sweeper, which appeared mostly unscathed, cooperated with officers, La Habra police said. He was uninjured.

It was immediately unclear if the street sweeper was in service at the time.

Traffic investigators were determining what led to the crash. Drugs and alcohol did not appear to have played a role in the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about it was asked to call police at 562-383-4300.
