Deputies seek armed suspect in Yorba Linda bank robbery

A man brandished a gun during a Yorba Linda bank robbery on Tuesday, April 9, and fled with an unspecified amount of cash.

The heist took place at the Opus Bank branch at 17672 Yorba Linda Blvd. at about 2:56 p.m., said Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Wayne Rehnelt. He said a man carrying a black handgun and briefcase demanded cash and then fled on foot with an unspecified amount of money.

Deputies were searching for the suspect Tuesday evening, and Rehnelt described him as a white man with a slim build, standing approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and who was wearing a green jacket and blue pants.

No one was injured in the incident.
