Dodger pitcher Julio Urías arrested on suspicion of domestic violence at Beverly Center

by in News

Dodgers pitcher Julio Urías was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of domestic battery in the parking lot of the Beverly Center, Los Angeles police officials said Tuesday.

Urías, a 22-year-old left-hander, was booked for misdemeanor battery, LAPD officials said.

He paid his $20,000 bail amount and was released Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the upscale shopping center parking lot at 8500 Beverly Blvd. at around 7:30 p.m., officials said. Urías was subsequently arrested.

Few details were released surrounding the arrest.

Urías has appeared in nine games this season, with four starts. He has a 2-2 record with a 3.18 ERA and 1.09 WHIP and has recorded two saves.

Due to a surplus of starters, Urías was moved to the bullpen last month. He last pitched Friday when he was credited with a three-inning save in a 5-0 victory over the Washington Nationals.
