Cat aficionados from near and far descended on Pasadena on Saturday to attend a convention just for them: CatCon 2019.

Dubbed the world’s biggest “cat-centric pop culture event,” the Pasadena Convention Center played host to some 200 exhibitors, lectures on cat care, health and wellness, and a large adoption lounge so that cats in need of a forever home.

Among the “celebri-cats” included Suki the Adventure Cat, a bengal from Canada with 1.4 million Instagram followers and Arlo the Dark Lord, a hairless sphynx from Los Angeles, whose Facebook page commands all his subjects to “be my peasant and watch me run my kingdom as the Dark Lord.”

CatCon continues 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. Green St., Pasadena,
