Man found dead with gunshot wound in Huntington Beach

One man was found dead with gunshot wounds in Huntington Beach early Monday, and police are treating it as a homicide.

The Huntington Beach Police Department said officers responded to the 16700 block of Viewpoint Lane after reports of a gunshot that was heard in the area.

“Upon arrival, they located a 23-year-old male deceased from a gunshot wound at the location,” police said in a press release.

The man’s identity was not immediately released. Officials said there is no reason to believe there is additional threat to the public, and that the shooting was an isolated incident.
