by in News

Two people were taken to a hospital with cut wounds after a fight broke out at the Orange County Fair Wednesday night, authorities said.

The fight, between “young males,” broke out in the Main Mall area at about 9:40 p.m., fair officials said.

There Orange County sheriff’s deputies found the two wounded victims. The Sheriff’s Department patrols the OC Fair & Event Center.

No weapons were reported to have been found. Two people were reportedly taken into custody.

Social media videos from fair-goers showed police tape surrounding a central outdoor space where food vendors are typically set up with tables for eating.

Authorities did not provide information about what triggered the confrontation, though fair officials did say there was no threat to public safety.

The fair, which started on July 12 and will continue through Aug. 11, closes at midnight on Wednesdays.
