Man injured in drive-by shooting in front of La Mirada house

by in News

A drive-by shooting left a man hospitalized Thursday evening after a shooter fired at a group of men sitting in front of a La Mirada house, authorities said.

Authorities were alerted about the shooting at about 8:40 p.m. after a resident reported hearing three to four gunshots, said Sgt. Noah Corrales with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Norwalk Station. The resident ran outside after hearing the shots and saw a dark-colored truck drive south along Edwards Road.

Deputies responding to the scene learned that the shooting took place in front of a house in the 13100 block of Edwards Road, Corrales said. Before deputies arrived, family members had driven a man, about 21-years-old, to a local hospital with a gunshot wound on his forearm.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

The man was at the house, hanging out with friends, Corrales said.

He said the motive in the shooting is unclear as the victims were not cooperative with detectives at the scene.
