by in News

Mechanical issues forced a plane that was headed from Atlanta to John Wayne Airport in Orange County to change course and touch down at Los Angeles International Airport instead on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Delta Flight 439 landed safely at 11:40 a.m. at LAX, said Olga Gallardo, a spokeswoman for the airport.

The flight left Atlanta at 10 a.m. with a scheduled 11:40 a.m. landing at John Wayne Airport, according to the Delta Air Lines website, before it was diverted to LAX.

According to sources at the scene, there were 159 people aboard the plane and the mechanical issue was specifically hydraulic issues.
