Huge swath of Northern California could have power turned off as fire danger rises

On the eve of the second anniversary of the wine country fires, Northern California’s biggest utility has warned customers across half the state to prepare for a possible blackout this week so their equipment doesn’t spark another repeat of those deadly blazes.
